Meet Jordan Liberty - a makeup artist and content creator based in Los Angeles whose eye for color makes for the most vibrant makeup looks!
Where are you located?
I'm located in Los Angeles when I'm not on tour.
What kind of services do you provide?
My work is primarily campaign; as a creative director, makeup artist, and photographer interchangeably for top beauty and skincare brands, including NARS, MAC, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Dr Perricone. I also work with brands as a marketing consultant and collaborate in a number of ways with product development. On the road, I teach makeup masterclasses across the globe, having worked in over 2 dozen countries on 5 continents.
Editor's Note: At one point, Jordan even had his own lash brand! We think that's high praise if he loves using ours ☺️
What is one makeup product you cannot live without?
There's a few beauty products I swear by: retinol, gel bronzer, and a great face/body makeup that's multi-use. Personally, I use Rx Tretinoin in a low percentage, Tom Ford's gel bronzer (that I think was discontinued, so I'm hoarding it), and Westmore Beauty's Supreme Creme because it's beyond waterproof on the skin and gives natural coverage. Beyond skin, I think lashes, brows, and lip color are ESSENTIAL color items that complete a face.
What makes you feel the most seen?
I feel my most confident when I'm around people who appreciate my kind heart and bring the softness out of me. In an industry that is often cold, shallow, and judgmental, I enjoy finding others who appreciate what is really important in life and who can appreciate the unseen beauty in others.
We know makeup is a powerful tool for feeling fearless and self-assured. What does strength look/feel like to you?
The confidence to express yourself without fear of being judged or disliked. So many people are scared to express themselves and I think true strength is choosing to just enjoy your life.
How did you get into makeup, or what’s your first memory with makeup?
My background is in fine art, but I was always very into portraiture, fashion, and marketing - so makeup felt like a great fit once I found it. I was intimidated at first! I think that’s why I enjoy my work as an educator so much, I enjoy making difficult techniques accessible to everyone.
Who is someone in your life that’s influenced you?
My mom. She has a huge heart and she always does what is honest and right by others and I have always admired that.
What is your favorite LoveSeen lash & why?
I love INEZ and the Singles lashes - lately, I've been focusing on just the outer edges of the lash line and I love customizing and stacking smaller sections of lashes to create more individual results.
Any advice for lash beginners?
If you're a beginner, don't start with a full strip. Start with a half-lash like LEVI and get comfortable with the process (and using lash adhesive). Often times a half lash is sufficient enough on its own. For a full strip, I recommend snipping the lash band in half and applying in sections - they're easier to apply and the break in the lash band actually makes the lashes more comfortable to wear.
