PRIDE LOOKS WITH ALON
Recognize this face? Alon Cameron is back with three makeup looks for Pride Month that explore her different, multicolored facets.

Tell us about yourself.
My name is Alon Cameron. I am a fashion stylist and digital media artist from Westchester, New York. My style is innovative, avant-garde, underground, and always carries a little shock value. I never like to play things “business as usual.” I am always looking for new and interesting ways to challenge the norm.
What inspired these looks?
My pronouns are she/her and, occasionally, daddy. I wanted to create three looks that explored my personal gender expressions as concepts. "She" is my familiar face, my recognizable signature. "Her" is the exaggerated version of myself. The realization of the unapologetic and colorful person I strive towards being. "Daddy" is a more masculine version of myself. The often ridiculed dominant side that lies within every strong woman. Pride is about the acceptance of others, but also the acceptance within.
Why is Pride important to you?
Pride is a celebration of acceptance and inclusion. Something that was not given but taken. For me, these last two pride months, specifically, have been in gratitude of the intersectionality marginalized bodies that have come before me and walk alongside me—being a young, black, and queer woman, finding a place for my voice has never been easy. This pride month has been filled with love and acknowledgment for the POC, Queer, Trans, and Feminine people who paved the way for the rainbow parades we have today. They were the blueprint.

What are you most proud of?
I am currently most proud of my ability to keep going. This past year has been one filled with stillness, obstacles, and desires for progress and stability. I am proud of the light within myself and the people around me as we continue to push through the difficulties this generation faces. I remind myself and my loved ones to celebrate the little things and find joy in the in-betweens.
